Sandra Powers is a Peruvian-American writer, director, and editor working at the intersection of animation, opera, and theater. A graduate of CalArts’ Film program, Sandra made her stage directorial debut with The Great Soviet Bucket, produced by Beth Morrison Projects and funded by the National Performance Network. She has since created immersive theater works including BARDO, a performative experience hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “full of wonder” (CAP UCLA, 2024; PROTOTYPE NYC, 2025), as well as the touring, Grammy®-nominated opera Black Lodge, presented at Opera Philadelphia, Malmö Opera, and Folkoperan. She is currently developing Werewolf Camp, a new musical with composer Nick Urata (DeVotchKa) and director Julien Chavaz at Theater Magdeburg in Germany. In film, her opera-based shorts Still Life After Death (Sharjah Film Festival, 2021; streaming on Amazon Prime) and Autumn (distributed by Ouat Media) have screened internationally. Sandra also brings her experience as an Emmy- and Annie-nominated lead editor on animated series including Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and Disney’s Elena of Avalor to her independent work, merging technical precision with her unique style of visual storytelling.

JENNA KIM

Jenna Kim is a dynamic creative producer in animation, currently working at Disney Television Animation as part of the shorts-producing multiplatform team. She began her career at Warner Animation Group, contributing to feature projects such as The LEGO Movie sequels, before transitioning into television where her passion for character-driven storytelling truly flourished. Jenna first made her mark on the Annie Award-winning series Amphibia, and went on to help bring to life the Emmy Award-winning Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.

Jenna is dedicated to projects that create lasting emotional resonance, not only between screen and audience, but also within the collaborative, behind-the-scenes ecosystem that brings these worlds to life. Outside of animation, she is also an accomplished photographer whose work has earned recognition,  Jenna continues to champion bold, inclusive, and emotionally rich stories across platforms, always seeking new ways to connect, inspire, and push the medium forward.

Kat KOsmala

SUPERVISING PRODUCER & ANIMATION SUPERVISOR

Kat Kosmala is an Emmy Award-winning animation director and visual artist renowned for her dynamic fusion of hand-drawn and digital techniques. With over 15 years of experience, she has contributed to a diverse array of animated projects. Kat's exceptional work as the Animation Lead on Disney/Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur earned her a 2023 Children's and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title.  Her contributions have also been pivotal in acclaimed series such as Disney's DuckTales (2017) and Bob's Burgers.

Beyond her production work, Kat is a dedicated educator, currently teaching second-year animation students at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).  She actively participates in the animation community, sharing her expertise at events like Lightbox Expo and the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA).

ZESUNG KANG

HEAD OF STORY & SToRYBOARDS

Zesung Kang is an Emmy Award-winning animation director, story artist, and producer who served as the Supervising Producer on DreamWorks Animation’s hit Netflix series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, which earned a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Series.

A graduate of CalArts, Zesung’s career spans major studios including DreamWorks, Reel FX, Riot and Illumination. He has contributed to acclaimed projects such as All Hail King Julien and Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, directing, storyboarding, and producing across a wide range of animated series and films. His storytelling is deeply shaped by his multicultural background and global experiences, bringing a unique and nuanced perspective to everything he creates.

Cesilia Gutierrez

PRODUCTION DESIGNER

Cesilia Gutierrez is an artist and designer known for her innovative approach to palette and texture. Her work has been instrumental in shaping the visual identity of award-winning animated series, including Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Disney’s The Ghost of Molly McGee, Nickelodeon’s Transformers: EarthSpark, Wild Canary’s Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, Chicken Squad, and The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. For Cesilia, animation is more than just art, it’s a universal language.

As the daughter of Mexican and Guatemalan immigrants, she grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons with her parents, who didn’t speak English yet laughed alongside her, understanding every joke through the characters' expressions and gestures. That moment of connection shaped her passion for storytelling- one that transcends words.

ANIMATION SUPERVISOR

Cat Ren is an accomplished 2D animator and character specialist known for her expressive work in television animation. A 2021 graduate of the California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in Character Animation, Cat brings a deep passion for movement and storytelling to every project she touches. She currently works at Disney Television Animation, where she animates on Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and has contributed to other acclaimed series including DuckTales! and The Proud Family: Louder & Prouder. With extensive experience in both hand-drawn and rigged animation, Cat excels in character animation, post-production refinement, and creative collaboration across production and technical teams. Her expertise blends artistic nuance with reliable execution, making her a valued creative force in the world of animated storytelling.

Luciano Herrera is an Art Director, Visual Development Artist, and Designer with over a decade of experience in animation. He has contributed to numerous award-winning productions for top studios including Disney Animation, Warner Bros. Animation, Netflix, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon.

Known for his bold design sensibility and strong storytelling instincts, Luciano has played a key role in shaping the visual worlds of acclaimed series such as Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (five-time Emmy Award winner), DuckTales, Green Eggs and Ham (Emmy Award winner), BoJack Horseman (Annie Award winner), Mike Tyson Mysteries, DC Super Hero Girls, Superman: Red Son, Primos, Pig Goat Banana Cricket (Emmy Award winner), and Stretch Armstrong & the Flex Fighters.Luciano brings to every project a deep visual imagination and collaborative spirit, crafting distinctive styles across genres and reimagining both original stories and beloved franchises.

Viva Calavera (Calavera Hnos.) is a Mexico City-based creative studio founded by the Calavera Brothers. Known for blending pulse-pounding action with emotional storytelling across animation, video games, and comics, they are the showrunners behind Rey Mysterio vs. The Darkness, produced with Cartoon Network LATAM. The series premiered throughout Latin America on Max and Cartoon Network, and stands out for its hybrid visual style that merges Mexican graphic tradition, wrestling aesthetics, anime influences, and supernatural fantasy. Their work has been featured at major regional festivals and industry events, and Viva Calavera has become a leading voice in Latin American genre animation, pushing the boundaries of both style and narrative.

GRAMMY®-nominated Qazaq-American performer and film producer TIMUR, “the extravagantly transgressive tenor, dangerous and seductive” (Mark Swed, LA Times), has made solo appearances with LA Philharmonic, Bang on a Can All-Stars, Beth Morrison Projects, Opera Philadelphia, National Czech Opera Theater, Comédie de Genève, PROTOTYPE, Santa Cecilia Academy, Müpa Budapest, and the Industry LA, among others. As a film producer, Timur worked on nine projects as an executive, producer and creative, including Sundance's 2019 winner Clemency (starring Alfre Woodard), Color Out of Space (starring Nicholas Cage, TIFF premiere), Daniel Isn’t Real (SXSW premiere) and Measure of Revenge (starring Bella Thorne) for ACE Pictures Entertainment. His theatrical projects with the band Timur and the Dime Museum, “a post-punk screaming opera” (NPR), developed and produced by long-time collaborator Beth Morrison Projects, include Collapse (REDCAT, Operadagen Rotterdam, BAM 2015 Next Wave Festival); industrial metal opera film Black Lodge (Opera Philadelphia, CAP UCLA); a dark musical satire The Great Soviet Bucket (Miami Light Project); a sci-fi comedy Klaus from Space (O. ELIZAVETA

Elizaveta is a Russian-American singer, songwriter, pianist, and producer celebrated for her genre-defying fusion of classical, pop, electronic, and operatic styles. Her music has been featured in numerous television series including Scandal, Pretty Little Liars, and The Affair, and she voiced the bard Maryden Halewell in BioWare’s award-winning video game Dragon Age: Inquisition, performing several of its beloved tavern songs. In 2011, Elizaveta signed with Universal Republic Records and collaborated with Grammy-winning producer Greg Wells (renowned for his work with Adele, Rufus Wainwright, Katy Perry, and Elton John) on her major-label debut album Beatrix Runs, released in 2012.

A classically trained opera singer and pianist, Elizaveta has performed at international venues and events, including TED Global 2013, where she captivated audiences with her innovative blend of music and storytelling.

Jonathan Paulsen

COMPOSER

Jonathan Paulsen is an award-winning composer whose emotionally resonant scores have elevated film, television, and interactive media with a distinctive blend of orchestral depth and cutting-edge sound design. His work spans a wide range of genres and styles. In the world of video games, Jonathan has contributed original music and sound to titles such as Arknights, Halo 5: Guardians – Hunt the Truth, and Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. His experience in game scoring showcases his ability to create immersive soundscapes that adapt dynamically to story and gameplay.

In film, Jonathan’s scores can be heard in projects like Elusive (2022), Control Alt Destroy (2011), and numerous animated and live-action shorts. He has also composed for high-profile campaigns and series, crafting memorable sonic identities for everything from futuristic thrillers to heartfelt dramas. Jonathan’s hybrid approach fuses analog instruments, synthesizers, and electronic textures with live orchestration.
